We were at the NAB Las Vegas conference with thousands of vendors, and over Sixtyfive thousands registered guests. Tim and I had quite the experience when we first got there, just trying to get internet to the booth. The question was, do we pay NAB for connectivity or do we use the SFC-HD4-MBX-5G?
First: How much would it cost to install a 25Mbps circuit at this event?
We asked the event staff this question. If we paid in advance... It was around $24,000. Paying at the event they charged $31,000 for a 25Mbps circuit!
Second: How much does our SFC-HD4-MBX-5G cost and what's the throughput?
We chose to use our SFC, and I was glad we did. We had reliable and consistent streaming all day long off the SFC-HD4-MBX-5G. We also got throughputs five and ten times 25Mbps.
At one point we were getting 800Mbps down before congestion from the event goers and maintained about 250Mbps with thousands of people walking around. We saw people videoing on their phone, having phone calls and livestreaming the event. We maintained our streaming the entire time, supplying our own connectivity.
With the SFC-HD4-MBX-5G we had our four cellular connections combined and active. We also had 2 Wi-Fi antennas active and suppling connection. We had a power switch available if needed for a PTZ camera or anything along those lines. In addition we had our four mobility 40G antennas inside the case. The highest throughput we saw from this was around 550Mbps download, and 180Mbps upload. But once congestion came in and everyone was here, we were still getting around 80Mbps down and around 45Mbps up. More than sufficient to run the operation.
